Service & Leadership

In addition to my research, teaching, mentoring, and editorial activities, I am actively involved in academic service at ETH Zürich and in the international mathematical community.

At ETH Zürich, I serve as Presidential Delegate for Professorial Appointments since 2023, and as Director of the Forschungsinstitut für Mathematik (FIM), a role I have held since September 2019. Through FIM, I help support the institute’s mission of fostering international mathematical exchange by welcoming visitors from around the world and organizing conferences, minicourses, and advanced graduate courses.

Internationally, I serve on several scientific advisory boards for research institutes, universities, mathematical organizations, and selected industry partners. I am also regularly involved in evaluation panels, selection committees, and prize committees, including committees for major scientific prizes and international research programs. This has included serving on the Fields Medal Committee for the 2026 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM).

These activities are an important part of my commitment to supporting mathematical research, mentoring younger scientists, strengthening international collaborations, and contributing to the development of the mathematical community.
