Ipsita Datta

I am a Postdoc at ETH Zürich, Department of Mathematics, Zürich, Switzerland. My mentor is Paul Biran.

I completed my PhD from the Department of Mathematics at Stanford University, under the supervision of Yasha Eliashberg in 2021.

I work in Symplectic geometry. I like thinking about moduli spaces of holomorphic curves and using them to understand various structures in the symplectic world, like Lagrangian embeddings in R^4. I also like thinking about technical analysis relating to moduli spaces, like obstruction bundle gluing.

Here are some words that hint to what I like to think about these days: Lagrangian cobordisms, knots, moduli spaces of holomorphic curves, holomorphic disks with corners and boundary on Lagrangians, obstruction bundle gluing, Floer homologies, Legendrian Contact Homology in Seifert fibered spaces, displacement energy of Lagrangians.
