A professional portrait of Rishabh Gvalani.

I am a Lecturer in Probability and Stochastic Analysis in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, and a member of the Probability and Stochastic Analysis research group. From 2024 to 2026, I was a SwissMAP research fellow at ETH Zürich. Prior to this, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig from 2020 to 2023 in the groups of Benjamin Gess and Felix Otto. I obtained my PhD in Mathematics in June 2020 from Imperial College London, under the supervision of Greg Pavliotis and José Antonio Carrillo.

My research lies at the intersection of PDEs and probability. I am interested in interacting particle systems, SPDEs, large deviations, optimal transport, random dynamical systems, and some aspects of incompressible fluids (mixing, enhanced dissipation, etc.).
