FIM

The Forschungsinstitut für Mathematik (FIM) is a research institute founded in 1964 by Beno Eckmann to promote and facilitate the exchange and cooperation between ETH Zürich and the international mathematical community.

Currently, the FIM welcomes and hosts about 200 guests from around the world each year, ranging from short-term visits to long-term stays. Furthermore, the FIM organizes scientific activities such as conferences, minicourses, and advanced graduate courses.

Since September 1, 2019, I have served as Director of the Forschungsinstitut für Mathematik. In this role, I help support FIM’s mission of bringing leading mathematicians to ETH Zürich and fostering international exchange through visits, conferences, minicourses, and advanced graduate courses.
