The Forschungsinstitut für Mathematik (FIM) is a research institute founded in 1964 by Beno Eckmann to promote and facilitate the exchange and cooperation between ETH Zürich and the international mathematical community.
Currently, the FIM welcomes and hosts about 200 guests worldwide per year, ranging from short-term visits to long-term stays. Furthermore, the FIM organizes scientific activities such as conferences, minicourses, and advanced graduate courses.
Starting from September 1st, 2019, I am the director of the FIM. I am happy to take on this new challenge, continue the excellent work of FIM, and welcome leading mathematicians worldwide to ETH Zürich.
